Frequently Asked Questions
What does your worship service look like? We currently have one worship service each Sunday. It is what we call “blended”. It has elements of traditional worship – Choir accompanied by piano and or organ pieces, hymns and liturgy AND more contemporary elements – informal introductions, announcements, prayers of the people, spoken word prayer. Childcare and Sunday school is offered during service.
What are the people like? People are friendly and will stand up and walk across the room to greet you. People wear everything from jeans and flip flops to sport coats and dresses. Wear what you feel comfortable in – jeans, shorts, flip-flops, boots – come as you are.
Can I bring my coffee in the Sanctuary? Yes! Worship is not a place to be scolded about what you’re bringing in, but a place of grace and thanksgiving for your presence. We want you to feel comfortable and coffee is comfort! Pastor Vicky can be seen with her coffee with during worship, and after worship there is a time for fellowship – gathering and talking with people – in the Lovell Building next door to the Sanctuary.
Where should I park? Located on the corner of 4th St. and East Ave, there is usually parking on both streets, as well as a public lot across the street and one in the 300 block of E 4th St, west of the sanctuary and across from the Ute Theater. We have handicap parking in back of the sanctuary building accessed from East Avenue. There is a handicap entrance to the sanctuary and our Lovell Building from this lot.
Is that all? After service everyone is welcome to the Lovell Building – the building next door- for a cup of coffee and snacks and a time to talk more with people you may have just met or have known for years. Pastor Vicky greets everyone who exits out the front steps and then makes her way to fellowship time to be with everyone.
